Research grants

The innovative and impactful research projects we commission are grounded in addressing crucial community priorities to benefit health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Each year, Lowitja Institute invites applications for research project funding.

Research grant opportunities will reopen for applications during 2025

Our Research Agenda themes are developed through a collective process of bringing together a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders from the research, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control, and health sectors, as they are grounded in current and priority needs.

Lowitja Institute grant rounds are influenced by themes and priorities that are identified at our bi-annual International Indigenous Health and Wellbeing Conference.
