Supporting agency and connectivity to drive primary healthcare innovation for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in South East Queensland
At a critical period in their life journey, First Nations young people have limited engagement with primary health care services. This project will establish the governance, infrastructure and methods for engaging young people in South East Queensland, with the aim of supporting their agency, self-determination and connectivity to primary health care services.
Through this project, we will explore a range of formats and methodologies, including web-based platforms, for engaging with young people in yarning and sharing about protective and resilience factors that support them through this important period of life. Establishing partnerships between young people, researchers and services will provide the foundation to expand this engagement further across South East Queensland and ultimately drive reconfiguration of primary healthcare services based on the aspirations, knowledges, and needs of young First Nations people.
