Innovating contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kinship care through genuine community engagement and cultural connection
The project aims to develop and implement a model that provides culturally appropriate and safe kin mapping and connection strategies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care. This research project will collect the first-hand experiences of past and current kin carers in South East Queensland. The project aims to build an evidence base, outlining the enablers and barriers which kin carers have faced throughout the whole process that will be directly translated into service provision.
