Mapping the histories of Rainbow Mob (Aboriginal LGBTIQ+) cultures, knowledges and experiences
Project Summary:
The Rainbow Mob identified that the Indigenous health service sector was lacking in provision of safe and appropriate health care programs that target the health needs of queer Aboriginal populations. As a result, members of this community are at an increased risk of isolation, mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, and lack access to culturally safe care. The research aims to map histories and represent queer Indigenous populations in various formats to ensure the cultural safety and strategy of Rainbow mobs are located in the health and service delivery of Aboriginal programs in Victoria.
